In November 2011, Scubazoo completed filming on Passage to Malaysia, a Discovery Travel and Living series produced by Malaysian production house Reel Networks. Hosted by well known Singapore model-turned-presenter, and former MTV VJ, Denise Keller, Passage showcases the best destinations and activities Malaysia has to offer. In this episode Denise visits some of Malaysia’s top SCUBA diving locations with Scubazoo underwater cameraman Chris Tan filming all the underwater action. Over the course of the shoot Chris, Denise and the team filmed at Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Tioman, and Malaysia’s number one diving destination, Pulau Sipadan.
Pulau Sipadan, on Sabah’s East coast, is of course stacked with amazing marine life and the crew encountered schools of Jacks and Baraccuda numbering in the thousands, friendly turtles, sharks and some huge bumphead parrotfish. Not only content with admiring the incredible marine life that Sipadan has to offer, Denise Keller was also keen to pick up some underwater filming skills from one of Malaysia’s top underwater cameramen. Underwater photographer and cameraman Jason Isley stepped in to film Chris teaching Denise some tips and tricks to get great underwater images. Passage to Malaysia – Pulau Paradise was broadcast at 9pm on 28th February 2011.
