Human Planet: Oceans has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Craft award in the ‘Best Photography for a Factual Program’ category. The BAFTA Television Craft awards recognise behind-the-scenes talent in the television industry and will take place on Sunday 8 May. The four nominees in the factual photography category are:

Pete Hayns/Paul Williams – David Attenborough’s First Life
Will Edwards, Doug Allan, Matt Norman – Human Planet (Arctic)
Gavin Thurston, Robin Cox, Pete Hayns – Human Planet (Jungles)
Simon Enderby, Robin Cox, Richard Wollocombe – Human Planet (Oceans)

Overall, Human Planet was the most nominated show with seven individual nominations. Scubazoo were of course part of the Oceans camera team and were responsible for shooting two underwater sequences for the Oceans episode – a Bajau spear fisherman holding his breath for two and a half minutes and a dangerous mass fishing scene in the Philippines.
