RED Epic underwater shoot for Tourism Malaysia

scubazooBlog

In March Scubazoo’s Simon Enderby completed a five day RED Epic underwater shoot at Sipadan, Malaysia for a Tourism Malaysia exhibition.

The RED Epic was housed in a Gates Deep Red underwater housing and configured using the Sigma 4.5mm fisheye lens for (what we believe) is the first time underwater. This lens gives a complete 180 degree field of view. Simon filmed a variety of shots featuring  scuba divers and wildlife such as schools of barracuda and trevally, bumphead parrotfish, green turtles and reef sharks. The final video will be projected onto a 100ft diameter dome at the Malaysia pavilion during the Yeosu World Tourism Expo 2012, Korea from 12 May to 12 July. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a virtual diving experience, experiencing Sipadan’s world class diving via eight projectors in this state-of-the-art installation. Please stop by and take a look if you’re at the exhibition. Details of the booth are here.

We’ll update this blog with photos once the exhibition kicks off.
